Connect your account once, then talk to your assistant the way you'd talk to a coach. Best Bike Split coaches can do all of it for athletes on their roster who have granted access — read their data, build and update their plans and bikes, analyze their rides, and send workouts to their calendars.
Look up your race plans, courses, bikes and workouts. Review pacing and power for any plan, and read your Aero Analyzer ride results.
All AccountCreate race plans with full model control, build structured workouts and bikes, import a course from a GPX or FIT link, and analyze rides from TrainingPeaks, Intervals.icu or a FIT file link with automatic or manually supplied weather.
Premium OnlySchedule workouts and race plans onto your calendar and send them to TrainingPeaks, Intervals.icu, Garmin, Wahoo and Zwift.
Premium OnlyYou'll need this address (it's the same for every app). Then follow the step-by-step instructions below for your AI platform.
https://www.bestbikesplit.com/mcp
Requires a Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise Claude plan. You only sign in once.
Add it once and it works in your browser and the Claude mobile app on the same account.
Use ChatGPT in your browser and enable Developer mode to add Best Bike Split.
Web only. Available on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education accounts; workspace administrators may need to enable access. ChatGPT requests confirmation for write actions by default, depending on your permission settings. See OpenAI's Developer mode guide for current availability and controls.
Works with any app that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in, including Claude Code. Point it at the address above and choose OAuth.
Apps that use a config file take an entry like this:
{
"mcpServers": {
"best-bike-split": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://www.bestbikesplit.com/mcp"
}
}
}
No API key to copy, and no password stored in the app.
The September 30, 2026 update lets you rename saved race plans and analyses while keeping their IDs and results.
MCP version 0.15.0
Ask: “Rename my race plan to Montréal Worlds TT. Keep the same plan and results.” Renaming requires Premium and also works for an active coached athlete. It does not recalculate, duplicate or resend the plan or analysis.
Update manual weather on an existing standard-weather race plan without making a duplicate. Ask to change temperature, humidity, pressure or wind; omitted values stay unchanged and the same plan is recalculated. Advanced-weather plans require an explicit switch to standard weather.
Plans created more than 14 days ahead can use historical weather as a placeholder. Within 14 days of race day, ask your assistant to refresh the advanced weather and recalculate the same saved plan. Refreshes happen when requested; they are not automatic and no reminder is sent. If you used custom CdA overrides, ask the assistant to supply them again.
Analyze a ride from TrainingPeaks, Intervals.icu or a FIT file link using the conditions you measured. Supply temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed and wind direction. Automatic historical weather remains the default.
Ask for a normalized-power (NP), finish-time or TSS target. The watt goal is NP, not average power. A time-only target now selects the time model automatically; conflicting goals are rejected instead of silently ignored. Final predicted time can include acceleration and braking adjustments beyond the target.
For the NP model, specify a maximum segment-power setting in watts when creating or updating a plan. It is saved with the plan; omitting it on an update keeps the saved setting. The existing model uses a soft limit, so check the returned warnings and segment powers. Creating or updating a scenario saves changes in your account. Unsaved scratch scenarios are not available.
TrainingPeaks entries with zero distance now carry a warning. Give the assistant the workout date to check for other files that day before analysis. Distance alone does not prove GPS is present; recorded channels are checked during import. TrainingPeaks analyses default to Time Trial — specify Triathlon, Road Race, Mountain Bike, Gravel Race or Other when appropriate.
Ask for original, unmerged race-plan segments when comparing rolling resistance (Crr), aerodynamic drag (CdA) or corner timing. The assistant can retrieve every segment in pages, preserving the precision returned by Best Bike Split. Compact plan summaries still group long courses.
Ask for saved ride segments within a distance range, including distance, time, speed, power, CdA, Crr, yaw and the race, climb or anomaly cluster. Results are paged. The average cluster identifies fallback CdA, and missing values stay unavailable. These rows are not an automatic reproduction of the web app’s section average.
Bike details now identify basic riding-style estimates, bike-fit measurements, Aero Analyzer-derived values or manual CdA. A source label describes how the bike is configured; changing the label alone does not calculate or import a new CdA.
Once you're connected, just talk to your assistant the way you would a coach. Here are a few examples to get you started.
“Find the Galveston 70.3 course and create a race plan on my time trial bike.”
“My race is next week. Refresh its advanced weather, recalculate the saved plan, and show what changed.”
“Create a time-trial plan with a 54 minute 33 second goal. Ask me which course, bike, start date and road surface to use.”
“Compare a plan at 185 watts against one at 168. What does backing off cost me?”
“Analyze Saturday’s ride from TrainingPeaks — did I hold the CdA we planned?”
“Pull up my athlete Sara’s race plan and raise her goal power to 210 watts.”
“Build a 2x20 threshold workout with a 15 minute warm up ramp.”
“Put that on my TrainingPeaks calendar for Saturday.”
“Swap Sunday's session for an easy recovery spin instead.”
“Put this week’s workouts on my athlete’s TrainingPeaks calendar.”
Having trouble with the AI app connection? Below are answers to the questions we hear most often, along with quick fixes for common issues. If you don't see the answer to your question below or you still need help, please submit a request.
Refresh the Best Bike Split tools or actions in your AI app, then start a new conversation. Some apps cache tool definitions from an earlier connection.
Ask your assistant to check the Best Bike Split toolset version; the current version is 0.15.0. If the new options are still missing, reconnect Best Bike Split in the AI app using the same server address above.
Choose manual weather and provide all five values: temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed and wind direction. Use the analyzed athlete’s profile units: °C and km/h for metric, or °F and mph for imperial. For a coached athlete, use that athlete’s units.
Pressure is always hPa (850–1100), humidity is percent (0–100), and direction is degrees (0–360). Zero wind is valid. Do not convert wind speed to metres per second yourself.
For example: “Analyze my ride using manual weather: 20°C, 60% humidity, 990 hPa, 0 km/h wind and 0° direction. Check my profile units and convert these values if needed.” Ask the assistant to read back the saved weather after the analysis.
Yes. Ask for original, unmerged race-plan segments and have the assistant fetch every page. Grouped summaries average neighboring segments and can hide changes at corners or between surfaces.
Race segments include effective Crr and CdA. Aero Analyzer results now include the saved effective Crr as a distance-weighted value, plus its minimum and maximum. Missing or invalid saved values are reported as unavailable; the value is not reconstructed from your current bike settings or independently measured from the ride. Segment CdA can differ from a bike’s zero-yaw CdA because of yaw and riding position; it does not by itself prove a plan-level override.
Check the server address above and keep authentication set to OAuth. In Advanced OAuth settings, the endpoints should fill in automatically and Dynamic Client Registration (DCR) should be available.
If those fields stay blank, DCR is unavailable, or Create does not advance, ChatGPT has not loaded the connection settings. Close the unfinished setup, refresh ChatGPT, and try once more.
If sign-in succeeds but the app shows No app actions available yet, open Settings → Plugins → Best Bike Split and click Refresh. Wait for the actions to load, then select Best Bike Split in a new chat.
If it still fails, contact Best Bike Split support with the error and approximate time. Keep your password and tokens private. Choosing No Auth or entering your BBS password as a client secret will not fix this issue.
Check the address was pasted exactly, with nothing missing from the end. Then remove the connector and add it again, which clears a half-finished set up.
If your browser is signed in to a different Best Bike Split account, sign out of that first so you approve the right one.
Those connections live in your Best Bike Split account. Connect them under "More > Integrations" in the app, or from your account settings on the website.
You can also ask: "Which of my connections need to be reconnected?"
Wahoo limits how many requests any app can make in a period, and pauses new ones for a while — often around twenty minutes. Nothing is wrong and you don't need to reconnect. Ask the assistant to check your connection health and it will tell you when Wahoo will accept requests again.
Sending the same workout to the same date again replaces the earlier copy. Sending a different one adds it alongside, which is usually what you want for a genuine double day.
To swap a session instead, just say so: "Replace whatever is on Sunday with this recovery spin." Best Bike Split only removes entries it created, so your own workouts are never touched.
Yes. You sign in on a Best Bike Split page in your own browser, so the AI app never sees your password. You approve the permissions before anything connects, and the assistant only reaches your own data — or, for Best Bike Split coaches, athletes on your roster who have granted access (coaches can read, build and send for those athletes). Coaches who also work on Intervals.icu can optionally add their personal Intervals.icu API key under Settings on bestbikesplit.com to list the athletes they coach there. Creating and sending requires a Premium account — every other account tier can only read. You can remove the connector in your AI app's settings at any time, and access ends immediately.
Data shared through the connection is covered by our Privacy Policy. Anything the assistant reads also becomes part of that conversation in the AI app, under that provider's terms.
Remove the Best Bike Split connector in your AI app's settings. Access ends immediately. Anything already created in your account, or already sent to your devices, stays where it is.
