Belfort to Le Markstein Fellering

The penultimate stage is a 133 km mountainous journey from Belfort to Le Markstein, presents the final opportunity for GC contenders to make their mark. The route, featuring six KOM climbs, culminates in the ski station of Le Markstein. Belfort, a frequent Tour de France starting point, sets the stage for a challenging day that includes ascents of the Ballon d'Alsace (11.5 km at 5.2%), Col de la Croix des Moinats (5.2 km at 7%), Col de Grosse-Pierre (3.2 km at 8%), and Col de la Schlucht (4.3 km at 5.4%). After an 18km descent, the riders face the Petit Ballon (9.3 km at 8.1%) and the final climb of the Tour, the Col du Platzerwasel (7.1km at 8.4%). The stage concludes with an 8km undulating stretch to Le Markstein, a ski station making its debut as a Tour finish. This stage is tailor-made for climbers and GC leaders, who will be looking to capitalize on this last mountainous test.
