Stage 10 is a thrilling ride from Vulcania, a unique amusement park in Saint-Ours-les-Roches, to Issoire, covering a distance of 167.2 km. This stage is a rollercoaster ride through the Chaîne des Puys, the youngest volcanic chain in mainland France, offering a challenging terrain that could favor a breakaway. The route is a constant alternation of ascents and descents, with three notable KOM climbs: Col de la Croix Saint-Robert, Côte de Saint-Victor-la-Rivière, and Côte de la Chapelle-Marcousse. The last of these peaks 24 km from the finish, followed by a nearly all downhill run to Issoire. This town, located at the confluence of the Allier and Couze rivers, last hosted a Tour de France stage finish in 1983. The weather conditions for this stage are expected to be typical for July in this region, with mild temperatures and a chance of rain, which could add an extra layer of complexity to the race.
